This bandana features a repeating woodpecker or bead spitter motif arranged around a central sun, drawing inspiration from the visual traditions of the Indigenous Southeast, specifically the Cox Mound Gorget.

Woodpeckers appear throughout Southeastern iconography and are often associated with strength, warriors, and the natural world. The central sun creates a strong focal point, reminding us of the connection of to the Creator.

Designed by Muscogee artist Amanda Rutland, it brings Southeastern-inspired imagery into a modern accessory made for everyday wear.
