How to measure necklace length

Learn how to determine the perfect length for your gorget or necklace

Ordering jewelry online, especially gorgets, can be a bit of a challenge if you do not know how the necklace length will fit. This article walks you through measuring your chain length to get a perfect fit.

Before listing your tips below, add one last sentence that sums up your paragraph or offers a smooth transition to your listicle.

Items you will need:

Measuring tape/ string and ruler

Instructions

Step 1: Run the string or measuring tape behind your head with each side of the string on your shoulders.

Step 2: Decide how long you want your necklace to hang. This is personal preference.

Step 3 for Gorget: Position the tape/string so that the short side is parallel with the long side. The number on the long side is your chain length. The gorget will hang in the center.

If you used a string, mark/cut your preferred length and hold next to a ruler to determine length.

Step 3 for Necklace: Once you have the tape positioned at the preferred length, bring the tape ends together. The number where the tape meets is your chain length.

If you used a string, mark/cut your preferred length and hold next to a ruler to determine length.
